Breckenridge Biking Colorado

Breckenridge welcomes cyclists. Riding a bicycle is not just for children any more. Every day, more adults are getting into the sport. People of any level of fitness, skill or desire can take part. Whether you’re Lance Armstrong or Joe Smith, Breckenridge biking is a good way to remain healthy and have fun. If truly beautiful areas of countryside are what you desire, try biking in Breckenridge Colorado. Whether in winter or summer, Summit has great areas to ride a bicycle.

Breckenridge is a great place to ride bikes through town, and now it’s welcoming cyclists with newly painted lanes on Main and side streets. The improvement is part of Breckenridge’s effort to encourage visitors and Breckenridge property owners to use bikes, rather than cars, for transportation, in order to support a cleaner environment.

As a result of Breckenridge’s effort, the League of American Bicyclists rated the town “silver,” based on its signs (which help cyclists nagivate the town), its routes that usher children safely to school throughout Breckenridge Co homes, its bike parks and its trails throughout the mountain. The town hopes to increase its rating to gold or platinum soon.

Anyone can pick up a map showing bicycle routes at local bike shops and at the welcome center at Blue River Plaza. Cost is $10.
