Blue River offers a solution to living near Breckenridge more affordable. The town is located approximately just south of Breckenridge, at a slightly higher elevation. The area houses a population of about 800. It is made up of mostly single-family homes; there are two condo complexes in Blue River. Many people buy real estate there because it is more affordable than Breckenridge. The town doesn't have any retail services, but the community provides access to hiking and climbing, including Quandary Pea.
