When Intrawest bought Copper Mountain in the 1990s, it infused a huge amount of money into creating a vital village. Copper is now a mix of older and newer condos, with a retail center, great restaurants and a village that hosts festivals, concerts and events year-round. Copper is divided into four distinct areas: the East Village, the Village, Union Creek and Lewis Ranch. Read more
The East Village is the gateway to Copper. It features the Copper Creek Golf Course, the nearby Athletic Club and the Super Bee chairlift, a six-passenger lift that sweeps skiers and riders to the top of Copper Mountain. Copper Springs Lodge is part of the East Village.
The Village at Copper is the main hub of activity, and the main base of the ski area. It hosts concerts during the winter and summer, as well as festivals. The village is an eclectic mix of architectural styles. West Lake offers ice skating during the winter and a serene water feature in the summer. Some Copper Mountain condos for sale, such as Tucker Mountain Lodge, provide lock-off units, which gives you flexibility in renting the lock off while you stay in the main unit. Other village condominiums include: Copper One, Taylor's Crossing, The Mill Club and Passage Point.
Union Creek is the beginner area of Copper Mountain, located west of the main village. A short chairlift ride up takes you to all of the action. Union Creek Townhomes West is located along the Ten Mile Creek and offers luxury 3- and 4-bedroom units. Seventy-five percent of the units sold pre-construction. The Cache at Union Creek sold out 100 percent pre-construction, and most of the buyers already owned at Copper, proving that Copper Mountain has an excellent reputation for real estate.
Lewis Ranch is the most secluded area of Copper Mountain real estate. It's made up of single-family homes and duplexes. The trail system, which winds through alpine meadows and wetlands, lies minutes from the Lewis Ranch and Copper Pines townhomes.
Condo and townhome living are perfect for a second homeowner who doesn't want the hassle of home maintenance. Just pay your monthly dues, and snow removal, water, trash and other amenities are taken care of. Copper Mountain condos and townhomes also provide excellent rental income, since many people like to stay at the same mountain they're skiing and riding at.
