New Breckenridge Gondola Lot Real Estate Development. Vail Resorts Project
Plans for Breckenridge real estate continue to expand, and that’s good news for people who own Breckenridge real estate.
In the next 5-10 years, Breckenridge real estate at the base of Breckenridge Ski Area will look much different. Vail Resorts Development Company, in cooperation with the town of Breckenridge, is in the midst of making Breckenridge a better resort community.
Vail Resorts Development Company plans to build a high-end hotel and Breckenridge condominiums, as well as commercial space for shops and restaurants where the Breckenridge gondola lot currently sits. And, they haven’t forgotten about parking; they plan to construct a large parking structure to accommodate ski area traffic.
The vision: To integrate downtown Breckenridge with Breckenridge Ski Area.
The Breckenridge Colorado real estate development will flow into Main Street Breckenridge, making it easier and more inviting for skiers to dine, shop and enjoy all that Breckenridge has to offer. Once it is completed, it will feel like an extension of Main Street activities.
It also will bring more amenities for residents who own Breckenridge real estate, and it will emphasize the Blue River as a main corridor through town. The development will include courtyards, walking and biking paths and resting areas, where guests and residents can sit and take in the beauty of the river and mountain peaks.
So far, Vail Resorts Development Company has been working on this master plan for two years, and the Breckenridge Planning Commission has already approved it. It is currently under review by town council. Town and resort staff members see it as the last major development project in Breckenridge.
Alex Iskenderian, vice president of the development company, said the planned Breckenridge real estate addition will seem like the beginning of town, rather than a separate entity, as the gondola and the parking lot feels now.
In keeping with Breckenridge’s values, the project will remain compatible with the character of other Breckenridge real estate, by offering a world-class visitor and resident experience, as well as a design that meets extremely high standards for sustainability.
By increasing skier traffic into downtown Breckenridge, the town stands to gain more revenue, which is always a benefit to Breckenridge real estate owners.
