This summer, Dillon built a larger playground and more picnic shelters in the park. But it’s not stopping there. It is studying the effects of improving the amphitheater and other town amenities.
It’s all a part of Dillon’s Waterfront Master Plan, which calls for a two-level parking structure, a wharf and floating dock, expansion of the Tiki Bar and new rental and retail buildings at the Marina. The plan also considers another building next to the parking structure that could be used for banquets, office space or restaurants.
In addition, Alpine Lake Lodge is set to replace Restaurant Al Lago on Lake Dillon Drive. It will be made up of 44 condos and will offer 8,500 square feet of commercial space, part of which will be a restaurant.
Meanwhile, Walgreens is scheduled to open off of Highway 6 (between Blockbuster and the City Market complex) this winter. The 9,000-sqaure-foot building offers five commercial spaces for restaurants or retail stores.
